I got it! I know it beyond the shadow of a doubt, and I know it is a revelation from God! Why do I know this? Because it is so clear once God reveals it! It’s right before our eyes all through the Word of God. No one could possibly miss it, yet millions cannot see.
Having said that, if you believe that God is a trinity, or triune, or that there are three persons in the Godhead because that was what you were taught, ask yourself this . . .
Do you want to know the truth no matter what? No matter where the chips fall? If that is true, God knows your heart. Pray right now that God would reveal this marvelous truth to you! I believe if you desire the truth and an earnestly pray that prayer, that God will give you the same revelation that he has given to me and many others. . . . Are you ready? Here we go:
I will give you many scriptures here to bear out all that I say. God’s Word is true. First let me give it to you in a nutshell; The Bible makes it very clear that God is omnipresent, that means that He is everywhere at the same time. The Bible also bears out the fact that God is omnipotent, meaning that he is all powerful and that He has all power.
The Bible also clearly states that God is a Spirit, and that no man has seen God at anytime. No man can look upon God and live. Moses who desired to see God would not be able to look upon God for all that He is. God had to put Moses in the cleft of a rock and cover him with His hand as He passed by, allowing Moses only to look upon His back parts (Exodus 33:18-23). Afterwards Moses’ face shined so brightly after being with God that the people had to have his face covered because they were unable to look upon him.
The Word of God also says that God is One, that there is none before Him, none beside Him and none after Him. The first of all commands in the Word of God is; Hear O Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29). Further God says that He will not give His glory to another (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11).
Because God is omnipresent and because the flesh of a man could not bear all that God is lest he die. All of God could not be contained within the human body.
When a man fathers a son, a small part of himself (seed) makes it possible for that to happen. In like figure, God who is Spirit took a small part of Himself, Spirit, and He robed His Spirit in flesh, and He called that flesh His Son.
. . . and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus was not a second person of a Godhead, he was almighty God robed in flesh. “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature”- (1 Corinthians 1:15)
Jesus said to Philip: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” Philip saith unto him, “Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” Jesus saith unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father ?” (John 14:6-9)
Think about it, if your daughter whom you loved without measure was held for ransom and was going to die unless someone else died in her place. Would you send your beloved son, or would you, because of your great love for her go and take her place yourself?
Yes, God did that! The story is a much more beautiful one than most of the religious world believes or can comprehend. God did not send a another to die for us, He came Himself!
The Holy Spirit is not a third person of a Godhead, but by it’s very definition is the Spirit of God manifested to us, felt by us and lives within all who are filled with His Spirit. This is why the comforter could not come until Jesus went away. He took his visible body away and sent us that same Spirit, His Spirit to not only dwell with us, but if we obeyed the gospel He would dwell in us! Because of that we are now the Church, His body! “…lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” - Matthew 28:20.
When the man Jesus, the flesh died, the Spirit of God continued as God. When we obey the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Acts 2:38, John 3:3-5) and are filled with His Spirit, with the same book of Acts proof of that infilling (Acts 2:4), now God is within us! When we die, our flesh which was created from the earth, goes back to the earth, but our soul lives on as does the Spirit of God that dwelt with us and was in us, in the same manner it was in the man Christ Jesus.
What was contained in Him is now contained in all those that have obeyed the gospel and have n Spirit with them. God is still robed in flesh, His body which is the Church!
There are not three “persons” in the Godhead. God is not a person, God’s Spirit as manifested to us (the Holy Spirit) is not a “person”. The only “person” was when God was manifested to us in the person of Jesus Christ and he dwelt amongst us. He was fully man and fully God.
God was, is and always will be One! ”And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16).
There is only One God, One Lord, One Faith, One Gospel, One Baptism, One Salvation and One Church. The Church that Jesus built upon the rock of which is the foundation of not who Peter was (Matthew 16:15-18), but of the revelation of who Jesus was.
Jesus was God come in the flesh come to redeem man to himself. To pay the price of the penalty of the initial sin as well as the sin of the whole world. Who Jesus is was the foundation of what God built His Church upon – (Matthew 16:18)! One Church, not a man-made organization or building dependent of what name was over the door!
A Church that preaches the same gospel message, lest they be accursed (Galatians 1:8), A Church that has obeyed the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Acts 2:38, John 3:3-5), A Church of which Jesus prayed that would be one, even as He and the Father were one (John 17:21-23).
