Is Islam A Religion of Peace? America Wake Up!

© 2017 Stan Hallett

I’m sorry, but I’m just a little fired up this morning after reading and listening to a lot of what is going on in this country right now!

Anyone who says that Islam is a religion of peace either has never read the Quran, does not understand what they have read, or is a liar.

Islam is an enemy of Christianity, of Judaism, and of God.

See my post “Is Christianity and Judaism at War with Islam?

This is not to say that most that claim to be Muslim are peace loving people, I believe that most are. However the books that they base their faith on, the Quran and the Hadith are not, nor was Muhammed.

The peace loving Muslims are not true Muslims. In fact, aside from the cultural aspect most Muslims would be much happier as Christians.  The New Testament of the Bible teaches doctrines more inline with what peace loving Muslims want and desire.

I believe in freedom of religion until a specific religion teaches to hate and murder others. You have the right to believe and worship who or what you want. But no one should have the right to do harm to others in the name of their religion or faith.

Muslim Ban?  If it isn’t it should be! I believe that the 1st and 14th amendment of our constitution should be amended again.  I believe in freedom of religion unless a specific religion advocates the physical harm and murder of those of other faiths as Islam does.

No one that believes or advocates such things should be allowed to become a citizen of the U.S. or ever allowed entrance so that they can carry out these acts against the Christian or Jewish citizens of this country.

The Bible was written in a period of over 1500 years by 40 authors as they we instructed or inspired by God.  Yet there is no contradiction between authors, and God has not changed. However His relationship to man has changed through what is known as covenants.

Muhammad, the sole author of the Quran, the primary book of Muslims and the religion of Islam, was born almost 500 years after the last book of the Bible was written.  Muhammad, an illiterate man, then took over 23 years to dictate the book, either from memory, or a demonic possessed state.

Muhammad was a narcissist, a pedophile, a mass murderer, a terrorist, a misogynist, a lecher, a cult leader, a madman, a rapist, a torturer, an assassin and a looter.

The Quran borrows from the Bible in an apparent attempt to give it credibility by including inaccurate stories of Abraham, Jesus, and others. One of the most extreme conflicts is that the Quran sees Jesus as a prophet rather than the “Son of God” (Mark 1:1) as the Bible clearly proclaims.

There are only two possibilities; either Muhammad was a liar and dictated the book for his own purposes, or what I consider most likely is that Satan appeared to him as the angel Gabriel.

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” – 2 Corinthians 11:14,15

Any intelligent person that does an in depth comparison between the Bible and the Koran would easily come to the conclusion that the God of the Bible could not be the Allah of the Quran.

Over the entire 23 years in which the Quran was written we were in the covenant of God’s grace and mercy extended to all of mankind. Not just to Muslims, not just to Jews, but to all the world. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – John 3:16. Where the Bible says to love your enemies, the Quran says to slay them.

I believe that it is entirely possible for someone to be raised in, or be converted to Islam without a complete understanding of the what the Quran teaches. Even many that claim to be Christian do not have full comprehension of many of the teachings of the Bible.

For this cause I not only teach Biblical truths on this website to give understanding, but I also feel indebted to also expose the false teachings of the Quran and expose the false God that Muslims call Allah.

There are a lot of Muslims that proclaim that they are peaceful people and that there are are many sects of Islam, most of which are peaceful.  While I believe that indeed there are those that proclaim to be Muslim yet are peace loving people.  However their religion, Muhammad, and the Quran bears out that it is indeed not a religion of peace. Muhammad was a violent, murdering, rapist and a child molester. Any Muslim that believes contrary to this is not a true Muslim and is not obedient to the Quran and Muhammad.

Conversely there are indeed those that proclaim to be Christians and do not obey God’s Word or the words of Jesus. Some that immediately come to mind is some that stand on street corners holding up signs that say “God Hates Fags”. This is not true Christianity.

In  a nutshell those that proclaim to be Muslims that say Islam is a peace loving religion and do not believe in harming anyone for any reason are not true Muslims.  Those Christians that would do harm to anyone or say something that is contrary to the Bible is not a true Christian. This is the great difference to our loving and true God and the false religion of Islam.

Those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.  Islam is not just the enemy of Christianity or Judaism, it is the enemy of God and humanity.

Here is the 1400 year history of Islam in just a few minutes. . .

More to come . . .

Islamic Spiritual Jihad

The Muslims call it Cultural Jihad, but its really a Spiritual Jihad and it is very real.  The plan is to not only kill all they they consider to be infidels, (which includes anyone that does not believe as they do) but to also recruit young men and women, converting anyone they can to Islam. They are being trained how to do this and they are doing it.

One of their biggest advantages that they are using to its maximum potential is the fact that most people, and yes, most that consider themselves to be Christians, do not know the Bible as they should.  They don’t know what is, or is not in the Word of God. Muslims are using this fact to trick Christians into converting to Islam, to the Muslim faith, to worship a false god called Allah, and the obey the Quran (Islamic sacred book), the Hadith (quotes of Muhammad) and the Sharia (Islamic law).

They are claiming such things like “Jesus was a Muslim”. They say that “Jesus was a prophet” and not the Son of God, and certainly not God.  This would make Him greater than Mohammed. One way in which they attempt to prove this to people that do not know their Bible, is to say that Jesus never said “I am the Son of God”. They are correct only in the fact that Jesus never said those exact words as written in our Bible.

There are many scriptural proofs that not only prove the Jesus was indeed the Son of God, but that He also was God, that Muslims also deny.

Jesus Said:

(Matthew 16:13-19)  When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

(John 14:6-9)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

(John 8:56-59)  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

This verse says it all because in Exodus 3:14 it was God that called Himself the “I AM

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

God Said:

(John 3:17)  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

The Archangel Gabriel Said:

(Luke 1:26-35)  And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

John the Baptist Said:

(John 1:32-34)  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

The Apostles Said:

(John 20:26-28)   And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Not only did He recognize Him as the Son of God, but he recognized Him as God in the flesh.  Please notice that Jesus did not correct him.

(John 20:31)   But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

They that Crucified Him Said:

(Matthew 27:35-43)  And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there; 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

(Matthew 27:54)  Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

A Muslim may also try to tell you that Jesus was a Muslim.  This is foolishness since Islam was started by Muhammed who lived from about 570 AD to 635 AD. Jesus walked on this earth several hundred years before. He obviously was not a Muslim.

Is a man that tells a lie, and believing the lie is true, still a liar?  He has to be.  What He is conveying is still a lie, whether he knows it or not.  In reference to Mohammed, either 1.) Mohammed made it all up, borrowing from the Bible which was already written in its entirety centuries before.  2.) He was possessed by satan. 3.) satan or a demon appeared to him as an angel.  Any one of these were possible (I believe that it was most likely the latter) but it still all adds up to a lie).

The Bible was written over 1,500 of years with 39 men of God doing the writing as they were moved upon, or inspired by God.  Yet there is no error or disagreement between all that is written. This is a great witness that the Bible is true in itself.

However the Quran was produced by one man (Mohammed) which was claimed to recited it over 23 years of his life to others, going person to person, and was eventually written down. Where is any other witness?  There is none. It turns out that there are many characters and stories borrowed, or plagiarized from the Bible. Was this done to add credibility?  To add more confusion to conceal the truth?  I think both.

Why would there be another book needed?  Was not the Bible enough? The Bible as a whole is for all of mankind, not just Israel.  In fact Christianity was never intended by God to be a new religion, but a new covenant between God and all man, Jews and Gentiles alike. Not a new faith, different from the Jewish faith, but a continuation of the Jewish faith under a new covenant.

If the Quran was truly of God, other than a few Bible stories woven in, why would this Allah be so foreign and different than the God of the Bible, a Bible that says that God changes not (Malachi 3:6), and that He is he same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)?

Mohammed was a man that lived and died, and is still buried in his grave waiting for the great judgement.  He never healed anyone, never rose anyone from the dead, nor did any miracles. He also did not die for our sins, nor as a sinful man would such a sacrifice have been acceptable.

Jesus was perfect in all His ways and He knew no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). He healed many, cast out demons, rose people from the dead, and many other witnessed miracles.  Then He paid the price for our sins by shedding His own blood on the cross, and dying in our place. Then He rose again on the third day having overcome sin and the grave, and He lives forevermore.

Anytime a Muslim tries to tell you that Jesus never said “I am the Son of God”, ask them why they don’t apply the same test to their own Quran about Mohammed.  Mohammed never said in the Quran the words “I am a prophet”.

Without Jesus, there is no provision of salvation. Allah offers no such promise. Muslims believe Allah will be merciful to them based on his evaluation of their performance. But salvation is never sure, and is never a promise.

The Bible is God’s Word and it mentions salvation 166 times.  It says that there is salvation in no other name but Jesus (Acts 4:12). The Quran only mentions the word salvation twice but in different context and never as a promise.  Did God Change?  No He didn’t (Malachi 3:6 –  Hebrews 13:8)!

A Dangerous False Gospel

Friday, March 21st, 2014

© 2014 Stan Hallett

I recently joined a “Christian” social site called CHURCHBUD (I recently learned that the site no longer exists). I did it knowing that most people that call themselves Christians in the world follow what is called “Orthodox Christianity” and believe a false doctrine concerning salvation. There are a few that continually post this false salvation message on the site (sort of preaching to the choir, if all of these folks are Christians). Here is a post that I just saw this morning:

“Do you have the peace of sins forgiven, and a hope beyond the grave? We need to be prepared to meet God before it is too late. Are you ready? If you died today, do you know if you would make it to heaven? The heart of the Gospel Message of salvation is found in the Holy Bible in John 3:16. John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. You can become a child of God and inherit eternal life in heaven when you die. Ask Jesus to save you today. Romans 3:23: All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Then where will those that reject Gods plan of Salvation go to get their wages? The answer: Hell! Psalm 9:17: The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God. Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Matthew 10:28: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Are we saved by good works? The answer: No! Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. James 2:10: For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. How to be saved: Romans 10:9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. To accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask Him into your heart and He will save your soul! “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Forgive me of all my sins! I repent of my sins. I believe you died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day for me. I now receive you as my personal Lord and Savior! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!”

The only part of this that is in the Bible is the part that refers to repentance. But that is only part of the gospel message. We don’t accept God as our “personal savior”, He accepts us! True repentance is from our own heart and not repeating some words or phrases. This is a watered-down gospel. If this is all that you did, you would still die in your sins because you have not obeyed the gospel. John 3:16 is often taken out of context. It says that; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” It says that IF you believe in Him, then you SHOULD not perish.  In other words IF you believe that He is the Savior and that He is Lord, then you should be obedient to Him as Lord, and not perish but have eternal life.  It takes more than simply believing and accepting.  The gospel must be obeyed (2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 Peter 4:17).

Note that the majority of scriptures that they use are from the Epistles, which are letters, mostly written by the Apostle Paul to various Churches (people already saved). The Epistles do not tell us how to get saved, or how to obey the Gospel! They tell us how to stay saved once we are. If you want to know how to get saved, what the Gospel is, and how to obey it, you have to go back to the beginning. The beginning of the Church is in the book of Acts, The Acts of the Apostles was the beginning and history of the early Church. This is where people were being told how to be saved and were saved.

Then the writer does not put John 3:16 in quotations or italics, but continues on with: “You can become a child of God and inherit eternal life in heaven when you die. Ask Jesus to save you today.” If one did not take the time to look up the verse for themselves, one might think that was written there as well.

They go on to say: “Are we saved by good works? The answer: No! Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” This is to say that we don’t have to do anything else but accept the gift.  This varies with all who preach this doctrine. Some say that you should repent, as this person does.  Most say that you at least need to accept and pray some prayer, and they usually tell you what to pray.

Indeed we are not saved by our good works.  These are being a good person, or giving money to causes, or feeding the hungry, etc.  Salvation is a gift of God, and cannot be earned lest any man be able to boast that they earned their salvation because of how good that they were or how many good works that they did.

Obedience to God is not a work, but it is obedience. Unless you obey the gospel you cannot be saved. God is going to take His vengeance on those that do not obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8).

Note that most of their scripture references point to the epistles.  The epistles (Romans to Jude) are letters, mostly written by the Apostle Paul, and were written to various Churches (people that are already saved). If you want to know how to be saved, don’t read letters to people that already are.  You need to go back to the beginning of the Church where Peter stood up and told the people how to be saved (Acts 2:38). Or, go back when Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:3-5, that a man must be born again of the water and of the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God.

We have a great challenge in front of each of us to know what is truth, and obey that truth. But how can anyone be assured that they are making the right choice?  There are approximately 41,000 denominations just in the professed Christian faith alone.  Each have different doctrines, even concerning how to be saved.  We know why this is.  Satan is the author of confusion and the father of lies. How, without God’s help could any of us make the right choice?  We need to seek Him diligently concerning what is the truth.

Those that go even further and take it upon themselves to be minsters, pastors, evangelists, and do not have the truth themselves, heap a great judgement upon themselves when they come face to face with God, as we all will one day. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Do not make what it is that you believe concerning the gospel a sentimental thing.  Some believe a certain way because it was what their parents believed. Some believe a certain way because they are comfortable with their Church, like the Pastor, like the music, or worship, or people, or programs, etc., etc.. We need to challenge what people tell us, and prove it out in the Word of God.  Pray that God will reveal to you what the truth is, no matter who’s right or wrong, or where the chips fall.  Your eternity and those you witness too, preach to, or lead depends on it.

What is the gospel? Read the answer to the question; “How Can I Be Saved?” It’s not hard to be saved.  Jesus said: For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30) But we cannot follow man-made doctrine of how to be saved, we need to do what God says.  It’s in His Word.  Pray that God would illuminate His Word to you.

There is nothing in the Bible that tells you to “accept Jesus as your personal savior”. Nowhere in God’s Word does it say to “say this prayer”, or “accept Him into your heart”, or any other of this man-made nonsense.  We need to obey the Gospel.

Don’t take my word for it, or anyone else’s.  Pray to God to lead you into His marvelous light and reveal the truth to you in His Word.

“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”  (2 Corinthians 4:1-7)

No Trinity in the Bible

Thursday, February 27th, 2014

© 2014 Stan Hallett

From the very beginning until today the “Catholic Church” believes that it has the right and the power to promote to sainthood, to change days and seasons, to add to the Word of God, to take away from the Word of God, and to change the Word of God.

CORRUPTION: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19) KJV.

The original words in Matthew 28:19 were Jesus’ own words, God Himself.  It has been proved from many sources including those in authority of the Catholic Church itself that the words of Jesus were changed to “Help the laity better understand the trinity”, a false doctrine (see resources below).

It is also important to note here that Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the synoptic gospels. This s because they are very similar, and go over much of the same ground.  Yet neither Mark or Luke contain this corruption (see the areas of Mark 16:15 and Luke 24:47).

It is firmly believed that this verse was changed during the second or third century. What is ironic about this change is that in their ignorance of who Jesus really was and is, they actually were not successful in changing it, but rather it became a true testament of who Jesus really was and is.  They added that we were to baptized in the NAME (singular) of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY GHOST (titles and not names).  That singular name is JESUS.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. . . (Colossians 3:17)

You see the truth of the matter is much more beautiful that many professed Christians understand.  God did not send someone else to come to suffer and die on the cross to pay for our sins . . . HE CAME HIMSELF.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (1 Timothy 3:16).

How was Matthew 28:19 written originally? There are a couple translations that basically say the same thing:

“Go and make disciples of all nations in my name, and teach ye them every thing that I have commanded you.” (See The Writings of Eusebius)

“Go and make disciples of all nations in my name, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you.”

1 John 5:7 was also added in latter centuries which as been proven to the extent that all modern translations have removed the altered verse (see Analysis of 1 John 5:7).

CORRUPTION: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (1 John 5:7) KJV.

The truth is that no where in the Bible does God say that He is three, that there are three persons, or that there is a trinity.  Actually just the opposite. . .

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

“Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me” (Isaiah 45:21).

“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” (John 14:9)

“And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he” (Mark 12:32).

“As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one” (1 Corinthians 8:4).

There are many, many more scriptures that prove God is one and not two, three, or anything else.  The Oneness of God is proclaimed all through His Word.

“The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by the Catholic Church in the second century.”

The Jerusalem Bible, a scholarly Catholic work, states:
“It may be that this formula, (Triune Matthew 28:19) so far as the fullness of its expression is concerned, is a reflection of the (Man-made) liturgical usage established later in the primitive (Catholic) community. It will be remembered that Acts speaks of baptizing “in the name of Jesus,”…”

New Testament Studies Number 5:
The Lord’s Command To Baptize An Historical Critical Investigation. By Bernard Henry Cuneo page 27. “The passages in Acts and the Letters of St. Paul. These passages seem to point to the earliest form as baptism in the name of the Lord.” Also we find. “Is it possible to reconcile these facts with the belief that Christ commanded his disciples to baptize in the trine form? Had Christ given such a command, it is urged, the Apostolic Church would have followed him, and we should have some trace of this obedience in the New Testament. No such trace can be found. The only explanation of this silence, according to the anti-traditional view, is this the short Christological (Jesus Name) formula was (the) original, and the longer trine formula was a later development.”

Catholic Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI):
He makes this confession as to the origin of the chief Trinity text of Matthew 28:19. “The basic form of our (Matthew 28:19 Trinitarian) profession of faith took shape during the course of the second and third centuries in connection with the ceremony of baptism. So far as its place of origin is concerned, the text (Matthew 28:19) came from the city of Rome.” The Trinity baptism and text of Matthew 28:19 therefore did not originate from the original Church that started in Jerusalem around AD 33. It was rather as the evidence proves a later invention of Roman Catholicism completely fabricated. Very few know about these historical facts.

“The Demonstratio Evangelica” by Eusebius:
Eusebius was the Church historian and Bishop of Caesarea. On page 152 Eusebius quotes the early book of Matthew that he had in his library in Caesarea. According to this eyewitness of an unaltered Book of Matthew that could have been the original book or the first copy of the original of Matthew. Eusebius informs us of Jesus’ actual words to his disciples in the original text of Matthew 28:19: “With one word and voice He said to His disciples: “Go, and make disciples of all nations in My Name, teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you.” That “Name” is Jesus.

YOU Were Kidnapped at Birth

Friday, January 17th, 2014

©2013 Stan Hallett

key-in-jail-door(It’s your choice to be captive or free.  The only bonds that hold you are in your heart and mind.)

We Were Created by God in His Image

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26)

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  (Genesis 2:7)

Kidnapped Children

I got this message right after the three kidnapped girls (Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight) were rescued back in the Spring of 2013.  They were held hostage and abused for 9-11 years. Then I recalled a similar story regarding Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was rescued back in April 2011. Jaycee was held hostage and abused for 18 years. Psychologists say that the women have many long years of intensive therapy and rehabilitation ahead of them, to begin to undo the damage left by the captivity and horrific abuse that they suffered.

Update: There is a more recent but similar story of Kamiyah Mobley who was kidnapped from the hospital at birth by Gloria Williams. She changed the baby’s name to Alexis Kelli Manigo who did not find out that she was kidnapped until she was sixteen years old.  She was finally reunited with her real parents at age eighteen.  Gloria Williams was arrested and the case is pending as of this post update (01/18/17).

Alexis claims that she will always love the woman who was her “mom” for eighteen years.

 Two Fathers?

God is referred to many times in the Bible as our Father, and often by the Lord Himself as He walked among us in the flesh. There were some people that Jesus referred to as Satan being their father . . . 42* Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43* Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44* Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:42-44)

I believe that you and I are the sum total of everything that we have been taught and accepted. Everything that we have taken in through our natural senses. What we hear, what we read and receive, and what we see with our own eyes, along with the things that we can touch and feel. Combine that with your own perceptions and personality and you have the sum total of you.

Young children are very malleable in their young tender years.  That is why King Solomon said Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). This is when we as parents need to teach them, not in just word, but in deed. I think that they actually learn more by watching what the parent does than by what they say.

Often parents say one thing, but do another contrary to what they teach the child. I have seen this so often even in families that have regularly attended Church all through the child’s youth. Sometimes we see a child that was raised in that way be rebellious and have little respect for a parents or a particular parent.  Why? Because the parents preach one thing and do another. They didn’t live it.  They didn’t practice what they preached, and their life was a contradiction.

If a child is raised from birth by a stranger, the relationship grows to become what is familiar, and seems natural to them. It is all that they know. The way in which they have been brought up, and the things that they know and endure become “normal” for them. The things that they believe, even though they may be false, become truth to them. Should this same child after many years come into contact with their natural parent, the real parent will seem foreign, unnatural, and false to them.

On October 4, 1987 Carlina White  was snatched from the hospital at just 19 days old. She was back in the hospital due to an infection. She was 23 years old before she finally discovered the truth. What was interesting to me about this story is that she never knew her real parents, they were strangers to her.  At last report she is trying to get to know her real mother (Joy White) with great difficulties. She claims to be willing to forgive her kidnapper (Ann Pettway) who was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and plans on maintaining a relationship with her. That is an amazing phenomenon. She was brain washed from infancy. What she believed was a lie, but it became true for her. No bonds, or locked doors were necessary. The three other young ladies were kidnapped in their teens and early adulthood.  They had to be restrained to keep them from escaping because they knew the truth of their situation.

Most people that have ever lived on this earth were raised by those that only understand and believe man-made world views, and satan influenced philosophies. They follow the traditions of men (Mark 7:13) and the doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1). Make no mistake, Satan has kidnapped the heart and minds of this world, and the world at large has accepted it from birth, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7).

When we approach those that were kidnapped by Satan with the truth, it seems so foreign to many compared to how they were raised. In fact for most, unless they are at their lowest, most desperate place, they will not believe or receive it.

I was talking with someone the other day who was saying “Why can’t I be blessed?  Why can’t I have some things that I desire like a house, and be able to enjoy life and not be stressed over money?” My response to them was “You are blessed!” I said how many real monetarily wealthy people do you see in our assembly?  How many successful doctors, lawyers, well-to-do business men? How many millionaires? Most of those people have put their trust in their knowledge, or in their abilities and in their wealth. Didn’t Jesus say that “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:24)?

Most do not come to God until they are at their lowest point, until God is all that they have left.  They are at their wits end financially, physically, emotionally, and God is the only direction left to turn.

Most kidnapped children are severely abused be their abductors. Similarly satan does not love us, he is a liar and a deceiver.  He hates us, and all of God’s creation, and desires to destroy us. If he can keep us in sin, in disbelief of God, in humanism, in witchcraft, in belief in evolution, in man-made philosophy, in hedonism, and focused on the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, then he has succeeded and has won.

He lies and deceives us with promises, and with the pleasures, and the entertainment of this world. His goal is to lure us further and further into sin (disobedience to God), and keep us captive.

Satan would never die for us, yet many die for satan everyday. There are no bars that keep us, no chains that bind us, no locked doors, no physical fetters of any kind.  We are only held captive by our own mind, and what it is that we believe to be true. Our true Father loved us so greatly that He paid the price for our disobedience with His own blood (Acts 20:28), to redeem us to Himself. All we have to do is to repent, turn from following the father of lies, and obey our true Father.  As the prodigal son did (Luke 15:20-24), we just need to go home.

It’s simply our choice. Satan is a great showman, enticing us with all pleasures that this world has to offer. He promises to fulfill our desires for happiness. But everything we enter into leaves us empty, unfulfilled, and searching for something else that will give us peace, and give us joy. If you’ve never heard this before it may sound foreign and strange to you, and there are so many things that you have yet to try.

Surely something will give you joy, peace and fulfillment. Perhaps promises of fame or stardom.  Perhaps positions of power or prestige, surely that will satisfy. Perhaps sex, or you could try some drug that would make you feel good, and make you forget about all of your problems. Perhaps the latest video game, or the latest sitcom will give you some laughs, some joy, some peace? Come on, there is so much to try!  Food, clothes, cars, relationships, careers, pornography, movies, booze, cigarettes, dope, sports, something is going to fulfill that need, right?

There have been hundreds of movie stars, rock stars, and celebrities that have committed suicide.  They are continually in the news. Obviously the success and fame did not do it for them.  38,329 people died of drug overdoses in 2010, and it’s climbing. Was this the peace or joy that the were looking for? About half of all Americans who keep smoking will die because of the habit. Each year about 4.9 million people die from illnesses related to tobacco use. Smoking cigarettes kills more Americans than alcohol, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide, and illegal drugs combined. But they keep right on smoking. The Bible says that there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Everything that you know, think, or believe is a culmination of everything that you have read, seen with your eyes, heard with your ears. You have taken that sum total and weighed them in your heart and your mind, and formed your own unique philosophy based on that information and thought.

What you believe in, as much as you believe a thing, becomes true for you. We’ve all had experiences where we have come across those that have some beliefs that we cannot imagine how they could possibly believe such a thing. In fact I think for most of us, it happens so often that logic would dictate that we ourselves probably have areas of belief that are probably in error. In other words we would have to admit that there are most likely things that we believe that are quite possibly, totally wrong.  That’s tough for some of us to admit.

Many of us that were not raised in the Church, and were not raised by Christian parents, were raised by world dominated views. It is the world system that is orchestrated by who the Apostle Paul referred to as the “God of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). He has kidnapped and deceived most of mankind, and desires to abuse, violate, torture, and spiritually and emotionally maim each and every one of us.  It is His goal that we perish without God, and therefore suffer the same fate that he is doomed to. Even most of what the world considers to be “Christian” is not true Christianity at all. Most of man-made religion falls short of truth, short of the true Gospel message, and therefore short of salvation.

Even many that have found truth, and have once believed, only to have wandered off enticed by the world, and the lies they still cling to. They say things like; “God knows my weaknesses.” or “Nobody’s perfect.” They may say “God will forgive me for this one little thing”.  “They drank wine in the Bible, what’s wrong with getting a little high?”  “The Bible doesn’t say that smoking is a sin, does it?” “Hey, all the famous preachers get caught doing it.”

It is reported that there are approximately 41,000 Christian denominations in the world today. It is no secret as to why. . . orchestrated confusion and diversion from truth.

If God did not draw us, did not lead us, and did not guide us, how could anyone have a chance to find truth? The world, including most that consider themselves to be Christians are still deceived by the greatest deceiver of them all. Oh yes!  The Bible says “13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  14* And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  15* Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

If  you have not repented, have not been baptized in the name of Jesus, and you have not been filled with the Holy Ghost, then may I inform you it is no coincidence that you are reading this now. That being the case, and after your true Father has paid the ransom for you, after He has brought you to this point to tell you the truth regarding the captivity that you have been in, and after knowing that regardless of the overwhelming deception in the world. . . You by His grace and mercy have found your way here. How could you come this close and not respond with brokenness and joy to have finally, after all these years of lies and captivity, now having come to the knowledge of your true Father, the only one that loves you with a love like none other.  The one that suffered to pay the price for you to be redeemed to Himself, and safely returned to Him.

What a joyful thing to be able to come home and cry “Father forgive me, for I have sinned against you!” and be forgiven and received. He desires to have a personal covenant relationship with you.  He said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). The Gospel is simple. . . Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38) 15:1* ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  2* By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  3* For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

He does not ask us to die on the cross as He did for us. But rather he requires us to die to ourselves through repentance, which means to turn from our ways and follow Him. He does not ask us to be buried in a tomb as He was, but in like figure we are buried with Him in the waters of baptism in His name. Then He promises us that the very same Spirit that raised Him up on the third day would also be given to us with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. …the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:39) The choice is yours today.

The only bonds that hold you are in your own mind. Yes, that’s right! The greatest battle known to mankind, having the greatest consequence, is fought on a very small battlefield. ”And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.“  (Luke 2:4,5). God formed us and breathed the breath of life into us.  He created us to have fellowship with him, to be His children. But God did not create us as robots or slaves.  He gave us free will, free choice. It’s your choice to be captive or free.  The bonds that hold you are only in your heart and mind.

We Are His Children

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God(Romans 8:14) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (Philippians 2:15) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1 John 3:1) I beseech you, I beg you, If you are here, and you have not repented, or you have not been baptized in the name of Jesus, and you have not been filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), then may I inform you it is no coincidence that you are here now, regardless of the circumstances that caused you to be here at this moment. Reaching Out to the Wounded

Thursday, January 2nd, 2014

©2013 Stan Hallett

hurtingI have attended a lot of Church services over the course of my 64 years, all across this country from sea to shining sea. Although I have had some experiences with denominational “Churches” in my life, my primary experience has been what has come to be known as “Apostolic Pentecostal”, or as some refer to us as “Oneness Pentecostal”. I have been part of, and have attended many assemblies whose pastors are licensed with the *United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI).  In fact I was baptized in Jesus’ Name in 1976 by a UPCI pastor (The late David F. Gray, Revival Tabernacle, San Diego, California).

I have also attended some assemblies affiliated with other organizations, and have been part of the leadership of others. I have also attended, and been part of some Independent Apostolic Pentecostal Assemblies, as I am now. You should also know that I consider all that are repented, baptized in Jesus’ name, and are filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, and continuing to walk in the newness of life, no matter what organization, or what the name of their assembly is, to be my brothers and my sisters.

Having said that; I agree that man-made organizations have done much good in the kingdom due to the organization of efforts, I feel that they have also done much harm due to the exclusion of those ministers, pastors, evangelists, and elders that are not card-carrying members. The spirit of exclusion, the spirit of competition, of disfellowship, and disunity is alive and well in the Church, which should not be. Nowhere has this been more prevalent and obvious to me than in my own home state of Maine. This has done, and continues to do harm to the Church as a whole. What some have intended to be a tool to unite like-minded brethren, has only served to divide us just as much.

The answer was never in man-made organizations and bylaws. The answer was in what Jesus already built (Matthew 16:18). Paul instructed us that “with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:2-3). You might ask why we don’t just submit, and join the ranks of this organization for the sake of unity? For me the answer is very simple.  While I agree with the basic doctrine of salvation, i.e., Acts 2:38, I do not agree with other false doctrines, the prevalent legalism, and the traditions of men which have harmed, and continue to harm the Church. It does injury to those that otherwise might have been saved through love. Jesus said; Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:29-30).

There have been many rules, or what are referred to as “Holiness Standards” put in place that are often not Biblical, or are taken from a misinterpretation of the Old Testament law, and do great harm to the Kingdom of God. This has been a yoke too heavy to bear for many new converts, and some older saints as well. There are also many traditions of men that are put upon the church as a yoke, which is often too heavy to bear for many.  I’ll not go into these here simply because I do not always know who my reader is. It is not my desire to cause harm or division in the Church. I will say that true holiness comes from the heart, and a covenant relationship with the Lord. True holiness does not come from a set of rules, the keeping of the Old Testament law, holiness standards, the personal convictions of others, or any man-made traditions.

What I do want to do is reach out to those that are of like faith, and that have been hurt by some of these false doctrines, standards and traditions of men, and may have given up.  I am reaching out to the wounded and hurt Saints of God that may live in or around the area of Northern New England. It is to them that I would like to invite to visit us at the First Apostolic Church of Biddeford, Maine. I can testify that I arrived here drawn by the Lord, in my mid 50’s and have been here ever since.  I came with a bit of baggage, thinking that I was well rooted, and had a pretty good understanding of doctrine.  I have learned much since I have been here and have grown in the Lord greatly. I am anxious to share it with you!

Come and visit us as you are, and where you are in your walk with God.  If your heart is to seek, learn about, and serve God, you are welcome here (See About Our Church Assembly). Have Questions? Want to talk? Feel free to email me, or call if you would like.  Or if you prefer, just come, and if you come, please make yourself known to me.

 * The United Pentecostal Church (UPCI) is a ministerial organization of which only it’s licensed ministers are members. It is the largest Oneness, Apostolic, Pentecostal organization of ministers. It is not a denomination or a church organization, although many congregants feel that they too are UPCI if they attend services where a licensed UPCI minister is the pastor.

Peculiar Doesn’t Mean Weird

Saturday, January 19th, 2013

©2012 Stan Hallett

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.  – 1Peter 2:9

The word peculiar appears seven times in the King James version of the Bible. Many think that it means odd or weird, it does not.  In fact nowhere in the Word of God is His Church ever referred to as odd, or weird.  It is the world that is odd, weird, and contrary to what God intended for us.

The word peculiar as used in the Word of God means a “purchased possession”, or “purchased treasure” (See also Exodus 19:5, Deuteronomy 14:2,26:18, Psalms 135:4, Ecclesiastes 2:8,Titus 2:15).

Having said this, I think someone needs to tell some that are in the Church.  Some of us act weird! Holiness or Godly does not mean contrary to the natural, or contrary to what is taught in the Word of God.

Let me give you an example; If you were to look upon the crowd at a rock concert or a sporting event like a football or baseball game, you would see people responding naturally. If music was being played we would perhaps see people moving to the music or beat.  They might sway, bounce, dance, or even jump up and down.

When people get excited they clap, jump up and down, shout, etc. Should we be doing anything different or unnatural? We are just getting excited, and are happy about different things.

We have the same natural response regardless if we are in the World or in the Church. Having said that, we shouldn’t be doing weird things that are contrary to the natural, as well as contrary to the Word of God.

In my sixty-two years I’ve seen some pretty strange practices in some assemblies as I’ve traveled around the country. Most of them I’m not going to mention here.

I want to start by saying that I think some use Church as a reason to do the same things in the Church building that they did in the world.  Some folks talk like Church is just a big party, looking for an opportunity to run or dance in the aisles, or “shake their hair down”.

Why do we assemble ourselves together?  Do we come together to worship God together as a Church, or do we come to Church to go crazy and put on a show for each other?

Do we come to hear a message and learn of God? Or, do we come to get worked up emotionally by a screaming preacher and organ music getting everyone all pumped up so that they can all go crazy and talk about what a great time we had, and how the Holy Ghost moved?  Holy Ghost or flesh?

We should be bold in proclaiming the gospel.  We should be bold in our worship, lifting our hands and our voices unto God.  But we should also have wisdom.

Here is the wording an actual sign the I saw in front of an Apostolic Pentecostal Church building:

Apostolic Pentecostal, One God, Tongue Talking, Holy Rollers“.

A sign at another Apostolic Pentecostal Church Building in another location read like this:

(Name of the Church) – “A Place to Belong and Believe”.

It was bold to put up the first sign, but did it show wisdom?  If you were not in the Church and were looking for a Church to attend, which one would attract you?

Did you ever notice that some of these things that Pentecostals like to do in a Church service always seem to happen down front where they can be seen by everyone, and never up in the back? Did you ever notice that they only happen in front of an accepting crowd and never in WalMart or in their own back yard? Just saying.

It might help some of our assemblies grow if some of us stop acting weird. It might help the Church grow if we stop looking down our long self-righteous noses at the unsaved, and love people instead. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to work on it’s own, and stop trying to help it with our flesh, and calling it a work of God. We need to be full of the Spirit, but far too many are full of flesh. Whoops! Did I say that?

Placebo Christianity

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

©2012 Stan Hallett

Placebo:   A placebo (pləˈsiboʊ/ plə-see-boh; Latin placēbō, “I shall please” from placeō, “I please”) is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the “placebo effect.

In medical research, placebos are given as control treatments and depend on the use of measured deception. Common placebos include inert tablets, sham surgery, and other procedures based on false information. However, placebos can also have a surprisingly positive effect on a patient who knows that the given treatment is without any active drug, as compared with a control group who knowingly did not get a placebo.

In one common placebo procedure, however, a patient is given an inert pill, told that it may improve his/her condition, but not told that it is in fact inert. Such an intervention may cause the patient to believe the treatment will change his/her condition; and this belief may produce a subjective perception of a therapeutic effect, causing the patient to feel their condition has improved — or an actual improvement in their condition. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect.

◊◊◊

Jesus asked Simon Peter “Who do ye say that I am?” Peter said; “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Then Jesus said; “Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:15-19).

There are three Biblical truths that I want to point out in that portion of scripture:

(1.) Who Jesus is, is a revelation from God. Most of the religious, and even proclaimed “Christians” do not fully understand who Jesus is.

(2.) The name Peter is derived from the Greek Πετρος (Petros) meaning “stone”. This is a translation used in most versions of the New Testament of the name Cephas, meaning “stone” in Aramaic, which was given to the apostle Simon by Jesus. But when Jesus said; “thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church“, He wasn’t saying that He was going to build his church on Peter, or even beginning with Peter as a foundation, but rather on the verse before, which is the revelation of who Jesus is. That is the foundation on what Jesus built His Church on.

(3.) That it was Jesus that built His Church, not Simon Peter, not the Christians, not the Jews, not the Mormons, not the Catholics, not the Pentecostals, or Apostolics, not the Baptists, nor anyone else but Jesus. There is but one Church.

(4.) That the keys that Jesus told Peter that he would give to him were not physical keys, sorry Catholics. St. Peter is not the physical keeper at heavens gate with a big key ring. The Keys that Jesus gave to Peter were spiritual keys that Peter then shared with us in Acts 2:38 where he said; “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Death, Burial, and Resurrection, those are the keys to heaven, and that is the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

God has given us free volition, and free will to choose and live as we please. Without God’s allowance, satan also cannot violate our free volition and free will.

There is a great spiritual battle going on, from the time that God created man, right up  until this very moment. It is a battle waged in the hearts and minds of men.

Satan uses trickery, lures, traps, and deceit, which are seemingly endless. For the most part he has most of the world convinced that either there is no God or they have a very warped, worldly conception of God. However, just in case they use that free will and try find God, he throws in great confusion.

Just in “Christianity” alone there are now reported to be approximately 41,000 Christian denominations in world, many of which cannot be verified to be significant. Talk about confusion!

Let me ask you a question. . . without direction, or revelation from God, how would anyone know what is truth, or find the true Church? Remember there is only one true Church, the one that Jesus is building.

But that is just what so many in the world try to do! The paths are as varied as there are people in the world. Some choose a religion or denomination based on a family members, a friend, a neighbor. Many simply try to find what seems right to them. Many go from religion to religion, denomination to denomination, assembly to assembly, looking for something that they can accept, and that feels right to them. A place where they can be happy or satisfied, and feel good about.

This is why 2 Timothy 4:3 says “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears”. 4* And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Many folks were born into whatever religion or denomination that their parents were a part of. They were born a Baptist, or a Catholic, or whatever, and they are going to die a Baptist, or a Catholic, or whatever.

It’s an psychological and emotional attachment for most. Many will stay with the Church that they got “saved” in, or won over to because of this. They have a psychological loyalty to their philosophy and their Placebo Christianity.

Colossians 2:6-9

6* As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  7* Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8* Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  9* For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Many in false religions and false Christianity have been spoiled through philosophy and deceit. They either will not get into a discussion with you regarding it due to instructions they have received, or they know that they lack the ability to adequately defend what it is they believe. Some will argue and debate with you to justify or prove out what it is they believe, never able to see truth (2 Timothy 3:7).

2 Timothy 3:1-9

1* This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2* For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3* Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4* Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  5* Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6* For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7* Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8* Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9* But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

God: One or Triune?

©2012 Stan Hallett

There are many articles, papers, books, and posts about the subject of the Godhead. It has been argued about since the beginning of the Church two thousand years ago.

This writing is not intended to convince anyone that is of another mind, for I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is a revelation from God, and is not obtained by ones intellect or devotion to study of the subject alone. You can’t study and find God, He is self revealing.

I write this to take my place in the cloud of witnesses, giving testimony of what God has revealed to me.  I write this to be a help to others who believe as I, that in perhaps some small way they will be built up in the faith and in their understanding.  I write this in part that God might use it to reveal himself to the reader that has not seen it beforehand.

There are many in this world that of much greater intellect than I.  Yet there are theologians and religious men that have devoted their entire lives to the study of God and His Word that do not understand, see, or accept, what God has revealed to me, and many others before me. That does not make me greater, better, or smarter.  I do consider myself to be blessed with this wonderful revelation of truth, and a small portion of wisdom for which I thank and praise my God.

Matthew 11: 25-27* ¶ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26* Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27* All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

1 Corinthians 1:19-29* For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20* Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21* For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22* For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23* But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24* But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25* Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26* For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27* But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28* And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29* That no flesh should glory in his presence.

I have no interest in winning an argument or a debate. I only desire to proclaim the truth.  I have never seen anyone won over by debate. It is indeed between you and God alone.  The question is; Do you want to know the truth no matter the cost, or where the chips fall? If this is true for you, then simply and diligently seek God on the matter.

God will reveal himself to whosoever He desires. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). It is indeed by His grace and His mercy that He reveals Himself to whomsoever he will.

Romans 9:15* For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

There have been two main scriptures that have been used to give support for the Triune doctrine.  The first is Matthew 28:19 – “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”.

There is much evidence that has come to light that this scripture was a corruption by the Catholic Church during the second and third century. See my article ‘No Trinity in the Bible‘.

It should be also be noted that the terms “Father”, “Son”, and “Holy Ghost” are not names but titles, and that the word “name” is singular. I am a son, I am a father, and I have a spirit, but those are not my names.

The name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is Jesus. Read all through the book of Acts and see what name the Apostles baptized in.  It was the name of Jesus every time (Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5).  They knew what that “name” was.

Further, we are instructed by the Apostle Paul that “whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).

The second scripture is 1 John 5:7 – “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” This was added to the Bible somewhere around the  14th or 15th century.  It has been removed from almost all modern Bibles with the exception of the King James. Most orthodox Christian scholars and Trinitarians realize and agree that this indeed was added.

For an in-depth study on 1 John 5:7 go to http://www.godglorified.com/1_john_57.htm

There seems to be no argument regarding that the Old Testament proclaims and bears witness to the fact that there is but one God.  Nowhere does it says any different throughout it’s pages.

All through the Gospels Jesus continued to bare out the fact in all that He spoke, that God was indeed one, and that there was none other (Mark 12:29).

All that being said, I believe that most that would consider themselves to be Trinitarian do not believe that there are three God’s.  They know that the Bible is clear that there is but one God.  This is the same ignorance shown by some of a Trinitarian belief to say that we are “Jesus Only”, or to say that we somehow deny the Father or the Holy Spirit.  However, Trinitarians do believe that God is a Triune God, made up of three persons, co-equal and co-eternal. This is despite the fact that nowhere is it stated anywhere in the Bible.

First we need to do away with the foolish concept of “three persons”. Look up the word “person” in just about any dictionary and you will see that the word “person” is defined as “a human being, whether man, woman, or child.” or “A human being regarded as an individual.”

We know that God is a Spirit (John 4;24) and that God is not a man (Numbers 23:19). Therefore there cannot be three “persons” in the Godhead. The only person was when God manifested Himself in flesh and dwelt amongst us.  The man Christ Jesus was indeed a person.

We know that there are not three Gods, as most professing to be Christians would agree.  We can see also that there are not three persons.  What about manifestations?

Manifestation: An indication of the existence, reality, or presence of something. One of the forms in which someone or something, such as a person, a divine being, or an idea, is revealed.

God has manifested Himself in many ways to man since our creation. The burning bush, the pillar of a cloud, the pillar of fire, in a thick cloud, etc.

God the Father in Himself, is not a manifestation of Himself. The Bible is clear that no man has seen God at anytime. However, God has chosen to manifest Himself and reveal Himself to man in many ways. God is indeed omnipresent, but is not felt or revealed to us at all times and all places.

God is a Spirit, and by the very title the Holy Ghost, or the Holy Spirit is a Spirit.  It is not a third person of a Godhead, but is indeed the Spirit of God Himself as felt, made known, or manifested to man.

John 1:18 and 1 John 4:12 declares that no man has seen God at anytime, speaking of the Father. But we can see, feel, or hear manifestations of God. This included His manifestation in the flesh during the time that Jesus walked amongst us.  Jesus said “he that hath seen me hath seen the Father”    John 14:9).

Jesus indeed was a manifestation of God.  He was God manifested in the flesh.  The Spirit that was contained in the flesh of Jesus was God, but not all of God is was contained by that flesh.  The flesh of man could not contain all that there is of God, no more than all of God was contained in the burning bush, the pillar of a cloud, etc.

That is why Jesus prayed (talked with the Father) just as we do, for He was flesh just as we are.  I actually get excited about the fact that we can communicate with God exactly as Jesus did! God came in the flesh of a man to be the perfect, sinless sacrifice, that he might pay for our sin and redeem us to Himself.  What a wonderful story of the love that God has for us!

Man is the only living creature that God formed from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2;7).  We are not our bodies!  We have a spirit and living soul that are eternal. Likewise the flesh of Jesus was not God, but the Spirit of God dwelt within Him. (Matthew 1:23).

The truth is that it is a much more beautiful truth than a doctrine of a Triune God will allow for.  God did not send someone else to redeem us and die for our sins, He came himself! He manifested Himself in flesh and he called that flesh His Son.

If we then have obeyed the Gospel (Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4), then we will also have His Spirit in us whereby we are called the Sons of God (John 1:12, Romans 8:14, Phillip 2:15, 1 John 3:2), whereby we cry Abba Father (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6).

What we have then is not three persons, or three Gods. We have but one God that has manifested Himself to man in many ways since the beginning of time.

1 Timothy 3:16* And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 42:8 – I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 43:10-15 – 10Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour12I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. 13Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? 14Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. 15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

Isaiah 45:18-22 – 18For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.  19I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.  20Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.  21Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me22Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Zechariah 14:9 – And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Matthew 1:23 – Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Mark 12:29 – And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

John 1:1-14 – 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 8:56-59 – 56Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am59Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

They wanted to stone Him because He was saying that He was God.  He called Himself “I AM”.  That is what God called Himself when He spoke to Moses (Exodus 3:14).

When they came to arrest Jesus in the garden just before His crucifixion, Jesus asked “Whom seek ye”, to which they replied “Jesus of Nazareth”. Jesus answered and said “I AM”. Your Bible may say “I am (he)” but the “he” was address which is why it should appear bracketed and perhaps italicized. “As soon then as He had said unto them, I AM, they went backward, and fell to the ground” (John 18:4-6). He was proclaiming to them who He was, and the power of it knocked them to the ground. This made it very clear that they had no power over Him, but rather He laid down His life willingly.

John 10:30 – I and my Father are one (One Spirit).

John 12:44-46 – 44Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 14:7-9 – 7* If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8* Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9* Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?.

II Corinthians 5:18-19 – 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Ephesians 4:4-6 – 4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Philippians 2:6-11 – 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 1:15-19 – 15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 2:9-10 – 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

I Timothy 3:16 – And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Titus 2:13-14 –13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I John 3:16 – Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Revelation 1:7-8 – 7Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. 8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 4:2 – And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

We will see only one on the throne, that is Jesus glorified as our Lord, God and Savior. Some expect to see a Trinity or at least the Son sitting on the “right hand” of the Father.  The term “seated on the right hand of the Father” was merely an expression of power and authority.  You cannot sit physically on the right hand of the Spirit of God. God is omnipresent. Where would you sit?

God said that He would not give His Glory with another (Isaiah 42:8).  Yet the Bible is clear that All Power and All Glory go the Jesus (Matthew 28:18, Revelation 5:13).  To wit, Jesus is God! – quod erat demonstrandum

Revelation 13:8 – And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 20:11-12 – 11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works (Only One Throne and Only One on the throne).

Revelation 22:3 – And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him. (It’s God’s throne, but it’s the Lamb (Jesus) sitting in it!)

Revelation 22:13 – I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
