Obeyed not Accepted

Ephesians 4:5 states that there is but “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism”.

There is only ONE plan of Salvation! Nowhere in God’s Word does it even suggest that we merely “accept” Jesus as our “personal Savior” we are saved. Of a truth it is not we who accept Him, but it is He who accepts us.

We are commanded to OBEY the Gospel (Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). The Gospel or the Good News is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose He again on the third day.

He does not ask us to obey by dying a physical death, but rather we die to ourselves through repentance, which simply means to turn from our will and do His will.

He does not ask us to be buried in a tomb as He was, but rather we in like figure are buried with Him in the waters of baptism in His name (1 Peter 3:20,21).

Then He has promised the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is this same Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave that will also raise our mortal bodies when he returns for His Church. Without it no man can be saved (John 3:3, 3:5).
