Wake Up Call

I walked back up to my car before service to get my water bottle. While walking back down the drive I began to pour out the half bottle of warm water that it contained. My plan was to fill it with fresh cool water in our church foyer. As I poured it out on the ground the Lord impressed upon me how much that water would be appreciated by so many that did not have even clean water to drink. I began to think about how blessed we are.

Towards the end of song service the Lord spoke to me again, impressing upon me of how blessed we are and how wasteful we are with what we have. Not just physically but spiritually.

God has truly blessed us with much. We have the freedom to worship, but as a people we rarely find the time to do so. We have been given a building to worship in that would be a palace in comparison with what many others have in the world, yet it spends most days empty. The days it is used it spends most hours of that day, empty and void of worshippers.

Then God reminded me how He has given us this glorious revelation of truth, of salvation. Yet as a people we rarely find the time to tell anyone about it, while a lost and dying world is at hand about us. We are wasting the gifts that God has given us! We are truly spoiled children, wasting precious time, and arguing among ourselves over foolishness.

God is trying to wake us up!
