You Gottawanna!

Gottawanna is the secret to all accomplishment, whether it is about quitting some addiction, doing a job, building a business, or having a close walk with God. If you don’t want to and are only doing it because someone chided you into it, or you are just doing it because you know that it is the right thing to do, chances are that you are going to fail.
Think about it. . . we are walking in the very same flesh that Jesus walked in. If you are full of Holy Ghost then you have the very same Spirit of God inside of you that Jesus had. Jesus said; “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” – John 14:12
So what’s the problem? Why are we not more like Him? Why are the vast majority of saints that are baptized in His Name and filled with His Spirit wallowing in the filth of this earth and are spiritually weak?
Gottawanna! How badly do you want it? Do we pray daily? Do we keep our lamps full? Are we truly walking in the Spirit? Or do we spend our days caught up with the issues of life? Are we listening to the wrong things? Involved in the wrong things, or with the wrong people? Hanging out with the world? Or just watching the television?
Are we easily defeated by obstacles such as fears and trials? There is an old saying; “If the mountain was smooth, you couldn’t climb it”. Think about it! I’m not talking about some little hill. I’m talking about what the Apostle Paul referred to as a race. Think of it as a mountain that few men can climb like K2, where 1 in 4 people that have even attempted it have died trying.
The mountain that I am talking about few men are equipped for climbing. You need rope, climbing boots, a helmet, crampons, carabiners, a harness, etc.. When you receive the Holy Ghost, God equips you for the climb.
As you begin to climb there will be obstacles. There will be rocks and crevices, shrubs and trees, perhaps hindering weather like rain, snow, or sleet during the climb. There will be some slippery places seemingly impossible to climb, but you ARE equipped.
Every trial on the climb can be overcome if you have the desire and faith to overcome it. The Apostle Paul said; “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13. Obstacles once overcome only serve to strengthen us, allowing us help someone else facing the same obstacle climbing up from behind us.
We CAN be like Him! Do you have the gottawanna? Do you have it bad enough to pursue Him? Remember He climbed the mountain first! Are you willing to follow Him? Climbing is the only way you are going to get there. It’s by leaving the things of this world behind and climb.
James the Apostle said; “know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?”. Actually He used stronger language than that. He said; “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” – James 4:4
If you have not obeyed the Gospel and have repented of your sins, been baptized in the name of Jesus, and have not been filled with His Spirit, then you need to do this to be equipped for the climb (See Acts 2:38, John 3:5).
However, if you have been baptized in His name and have been filled with His Spirit, then you ARE well equipped for the climb. So what are you waiting for? What obstacle has stopped you? What IN THE WORLD is holding you back?
Take on the whole armor of God and let’s climb. But you Gottawanna more than anything!
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” – Ephesians 6:13-18.
